The Compendium of Chester Gold & Silver Marks
This is the first publication in a single work of all known Chester punch marks, and continues the tradition of the standard volumes of Jackson, Grimwade, Culme and Pickford. It is also the first time that the twentieth-century Chester marks have been published. It is produced in dictionary format, in alphabetical order from 1570, the date of the earliest known mark, to 1962 at which time the Chester assay office was closed. Part 2 covers nearly 10,000 entries for makers' marks, including pictograms and monograms. Finally, the appendices inclu

Vintage 16 Piece China Set The Crown China Company Ohio 1950s with Pink and Yellow Magnolias and Green Stems
This china set is in PRISITNE condition. There are no chips, cracks or even crazing which is common in something from the 50’s. They feature a different size flower depending on the size of the plate or bowl and are a lovely pink with yellow and green leaves. I think the flower may be a magnolia. The only blemish I can see is from the creation process where some of the flower images may have moved slightly under the glaze. This china doesn’t even appear to have ever been used. There are no scrapes from a knifes or silverware, no scuffs or wear at all!!! Each plate has a gold mark on the back with “The Crown China Company Minerva, OH” and “National Brotherhood Operative Potters” and either the number 77 or 55 depending on the size.
Included are:
4 Plates 9 ?” with number “77”
4 Salad or bread plate 6 ?” with number “55”
4 Bowls 7 ?” with the number “55”
